However, I've decided to take it there to show it off 'naked' as it were, so I thought I might as well post about it on here. This is my model of the double-tender 4-6-2 LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman. As you can see, there is a lot of printing to be done on it - including green printed onto the windows and a couple of other bits of colouring.

Flying Scotsman has had a colourful life in preservation. When withdrawn in 1963, it was purchased by Alan Pegler who removed the German-style smoke deflectors and fitted a corridor tender.

Hi, just come across this thread. Here is a picture I took in mid 60's of Flying Scotsman taking water in Clarence Yard (Finsbury Park). Looks like Alan Ramage on the tender and driver John Hill on the ground. Took some other pictures of 4472, but this is the only one I've scanned.
