This is fine, I just want the sound going to my DP monitor and NOT my HDMI monitor. The ONLY solution I've come up with is to physically unplug both HDMI and DP monitors, then plug them back in, DP first. After this process DisplayPort will then be an option to output sound to. This reverts to the HDMI monitor when I reboot.

HDMI works fine, able to see my post screen and RAID screen show up and enter the BIOS fine. It just won't do it with DisplayPort.. New setup is DP - DP or HDMI - DP and thats where i started to see such issue KiDCady; 1 Link to comment Share on other sites. More sharing options.

DP has a power pin, but it's only to power an adapter (3.3V 500mA). But according to specification, cables are not allowed to carry the DP_PWR pin. I managed to get the Display port working again on the problem child monitor. Ended up hooking up a HDMI cable, going into System setup > DisplayPort Stream .and setting the option to 1.2. This managed to bring the display port back to life again. FWIW I could not get into System Setup without connecting the HDMI cable.
